Legal practitioner Frank Davies has strongly refuted claims by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSPS) dismissing the medical report of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as "fake." Davies described the denial as a "blatant falsehood" and accused the OSPS of engaging in a deliberate smear campaign.
The controversy arose after the OSPS, in a statement, rejected a medical document submitted by Ofori-Atta’s legal team, alleging it was fabricated to evade accountability in an ongoing investigation. However, Davies insists the document is legitimate and was issued by a recognized medical facility.
“The OSPS’ reckless dismissal of a valid medical report is not only unprofessional but also a clear attempt to undermine due process,” Davies stated. “This is a blatant falsehood aimed at tarnishing Mr. Ofori-Atta’s reputation.”
He further demanded an immediate retraction and apology from the OSPS, warning that failure to do so could lead to legal action.
The OSPS has yet to respond to Davies' latest remarks. Meanwhile, public discourse remains divided, with critics questioning the timing of the medical report and supporters of Ofori-Atta condemning what they see as a politically motivated attack.
This development adds another layer to the ongoing legal and political scrutiny surrounding the former Finance Minister
