Matilda Asante-Asiedu appointed Second Deputy Governor of BoG

 


President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Matilda Asante-Asiedu as the Bank of Ghana's (BoG) second deputy governor.

The appointment, announced in a letter signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson to the president and minister for government communications, was made in accordance with Section 17 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612).

Asante-Asiedu is a chartered banker and seasoned business leader who previously worked as the group head of retail banking at Access Bank Ghana PLC.

She has an MBA in Marketing from GIMPA Business School (2021) and an MA in Journalism Studies from Cardiff University (2005).


She also has diplomas in politics and public affairs reporting from the International Institute of Journalism, Berlin (2000), and journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (1997).

Mrs. Asante-Asiedu is also a Chartered Executive Banker (CIB-Ghana, 2024) and has completed executive programs at Oxford University (2023), Marquette University's Les Aspin Center (2003), Wharton School (2015), and Said Business School.
